Ari the Creator's Memoir
I'm a first-generation Latina, Gen Z writer who spent years building everything I thought I needed — a college degree, a business, a brand — only to find out the thing I was looking for was never out there to find. This memoir is the story of what happens when you stop swimming toward the next thing and finally dive down to find out what's actually been pulling you the whole time: the ocean that taught me how, the family patterns I almost inherited without noticing, the parts of my own story I didn't know I was still avoiding, and the moment everything I thought I understood about myself cracked open. It's not just a coming-of-age story, it's a coming-into-consciousness one. I think anyone who's ever sensed there's more beneath their own surface will recognize themselves in it.

A Community Beyond the Book
When Beneath the Surface launches, it will also become home to a free online art gallery and community created for people who have lived through adversity.
The gallery will feature artwork from survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, domestic violence, adverse childhood experiences, and other forms of trauma and adversity — creating a space for people to express what can be difficult to put into words and to know that their stories matter.
The gallery is not live yet. It will officially open alongside the launch of Beneath the Surface. Until then, I’m beginning to collect artwork from people who may want to be part of it.
